Washington Union's Sports Medicine Program strives to promote excellence in healthcare for athletics. Headed by Certified Athletic Trainer Tony Peña, M.Ed., ATC, CES, the program has evolved into a multifaceted entity within our Health Institute and athletic department. The "Introduction to Sports Medicine" Course was created in 2013. The program has allowed students insight into the field of sports medicine/athletic training along with many others careers in the healthcare industry. Students are the main focus of the program. Whether WUHS students are being treated in our state of the art Sports Medicine/Strength & Conditioning Complex, working at interscholastic games as a rookie athletic training student, assisting as a Senior or Head Athletic Training Student for a specific team their senior year, promoting the health and safety of all the Panthers and anyone visiting the WUHS campus is our primary focus.
